work, work and more work

We finally started to get some paint on the wall, but we are now removing EVERYTHING from the kitchen. My grandfather, uncle and great uncle are doing us a huge favor by tiling our kitchen floor and wants to do the whole floor (for the best result). My grandfather told rob tonight what all needed to come up and out (everything is to be stripped down to the sub-floor) and Rob has already cleaned the kitchen out! My hubby doesn't mess around! Hopefully, I will remember to take some pictures of the progress/work and post them soon.

Kitchen measurements for Tim

Sorry, this post is just for my Uncle Tim. It was the easiest way to post pictures and measurements. The kitchen is a mess and everything is just kind of thrown in there right now. The cabinets and counter have not been moved exactly where they are going (just a few inches down the wall, closer to the pantry).

From the new cabinets to the wall is 9ft and 3in.
From new cabinets to old cabinets by the fridge is about 7ft and 4in.

From the wall in the picture to the wall behind the stove is 23ft and 9in.
From the arched doorway (the kitchen has two doorways) to the back door is about 10ft and 9in.
Including everything in the kitchen, the kitchen is 23.9 x 10.9. I think the cabinets are are a little less than 2 feet deep.

We are thinking there may be three layers of this crap. Papaw told us not to pull it up yet, he wants to look at it first.

The bottom Half

I finally remembered to take pictures of the bottom half of the house (all but the garage). The kitchen is under construction right now, so maybe we will have some pictures of the progess soon!
The laundry room. This room is on hold for work.

The den.

Guest bedroom.

This the the screened in area under the deck. Still not sure how I feel about it. The stuff in the pic (besides Kady) was left.)

downstairs bathroom.
We hope to get a lot accomplished this weekend such as cleaning and prepping for paint. Rob finally got the rest of the wall paper off tonight--the border was no piece of cake! My feet were way too swollen and tired tonight to do much. I cleaned out the fridge and still have the freezer to do. We are planning on buying a new one, but hoping to hold off for a while since we are already having to buy two other appliances. I am pretty sure the woman who sold us the house did not clean the entire ten years she lived there.

Have a wonderful night and enjoy the warm weather!

Our new house!!

We are offically homeowners! We closed on our house last Friday and we have already gotten to work. We have made plans for what we are wanting to have accomplished before we move in (hoping for the beginning of May) and have started a "to do" list for years to come. This week, Rob and I have been peeling off the nasty wallpaper in the kitchen and we have worked well as team--I have done the bottom of the walls and Rob has done all of the climbing.

Here are some more pictures of the house in progess. I was hoping to get pictures before we did anything to show everyone the crazy stuff we found in the yard, but my pregnant mind can not keep up with my husband's love for throwing away things. :) (I just realized that I forgot to take pictures of the downstairs. ooops! Will post those later!

The kitchen. We are adding cabinets, applicances, tile and have already removed most of the paper.

The sitting area.

Upstairs bathroom.

Our room. Anyone dying to have the curtains??

Kaydence's room.

Maddox's room and the lady even left a toy for him. haha

The park is right across the street!!!

I am really excited about the tulips!

An out of control yard!

We have thrown away a lot of stuff and it is already looking better!

Our view from the deck. There is a compost pile down there somewhere.

The black berries and gardens. The tower thing will come down and we threw away the iron head and footboard in one of the gardens and the children's shoes that had plants growing in them. Sorry, I didn't get pictures!

The green thing is another compost thing. Anyone want a compose bucket?

The tree that is about to fall on the neighbors house. I guess we should do something about that.

Hopefully, I will be able to post often to keep everyone updated on the house and our growing family!!!!
